By default, Microsoft Word will fill the properties with you registration name and company name. Unfortunately, you don\u2019t always want it. Maybe you want set document properties with nothing or with yours. Whatever you choose, you must clean it first but if you must clean it every time you create a document, that\u2019s not a good idea. You can make a macro to make it with a click.<\/p>\n<p>To check your properties of document word, you can open it through File \u2013 Properties menu in Microsoft Word.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"File - Properties menu\" src=\"http:\/\/www.otakatik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tiptrick101\/0103\/prop_menu_1.jpg\" alt=\"File - Properties menu\" \/><\/p>\n<p>then you can look the properties.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Properties dialog\" src=\"http:\/\/www.otakatik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tiptrick101\/0103\/prop_window_2.jpg\" alt=\"Properties dialog\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And here are the steps to create a macro that can wipe you properties entries in a click:<\/p>\n<p>1. Open Microsoft Word first, then open VB Editor to create a macro by click Macro \u2013 Visual Basic Editor menu.<\/p>\n<p>Visual Basic Editor menu<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Visual Basic Editor menu\" src=\"http:\/\/www.otakatik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tiptrick101\/0103\/vba_menu_3.jpg\" alt=\"Visual Basic Editor menu\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2. In Visual Basic Editor, create a module by click Insert \u2013 Module menu.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Insert module menu\" src=\"http:\/\/www.otakatik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tiptrick101\/0103\/ins_modul_4.jpg\" alt=\"Insert module menu\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. Then type this script:<\/p>\n<p>Sub wipe_prop()<br \/>\nDim my_prop As DocumentProperty<br \/>\nOn Error Resume Next &#8216;to make it silent<br \/>\nFor Each my_prop In ActiveDocument.BuiltInDocumentProperties<br \/>\nmy_prop.Value = &#8220;&#8221;<br \/>\nNext my_prop<br \/>\nEnd Sub<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Type script\" src=\"http:\/\/www.otakatik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tiptrick101\/0103\/type_code_5.jpg\" alt=\"Type script\" \/><\/p>\n<p>4. Then, to make sure that you don\u2019t mistake when type the script, try to compiles it first by click Debug \u2013 Compile Project menu.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Compile current project\" src=\"http:\/\/www.otakatik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tiptrick101\/0103\/debug_comp_6.jpg\" alt=\"Compile current project\" \/><\/p>\n<p>5. If you don\u2019t get any error messages, you may close the Visual Basic Editor. Then you must copy to default Word template file, it calls normal.dot. To doing it, organize your macro first, click Tools \u2013 Macro \u2013 Macros menu.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Organize macro\" src=\"http:\/\/www.otakatik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tiptrick101\/0103\/macro_menu_7.jpg\" alt=\"Macro menu\" \/><\/p>\n<p>6. In Macros dialog, click wipe_macro in Macro name list, and then click Organize button.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Organize macro\" src=\"http:\/\/www.otakatik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tiptrick101\/0103\/organize_8.jpg\" alt=\"Macro menu\" \/><\/p>\n<p>7. In Organize dialog, click Module1 item in left panel, click Copy button to copy it to normal.dot and then click Close button.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Organizer macro\" src=\"http:\/\/www.otakatik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tiptrick101\/0103\/organizer_9.jpg\" alt=\"Macro organizer\" \/><\/p>\n<p>8. Actually, your macro has been made, but you must represent it by button on toolbar so that you can access it directly. To create a toolbar button, click Tools \u2013 Customize menu.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Customize toolbar\" src=\"http:\/\/www.otakatik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tiptrick101\/0103\/customize_10.jpg\" alt=\"Customize toolbar\" \/><\/p>\n<p>9. In Customize window, click Commands tab, select Categories: Macros, select Commands: Normal.Module1.wipe_prop.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Commands tab\" src=\"http:\/\/www.otakatik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tiptrick101\/0103\/commands_tab_11.jpg\" alt=\"Commands tab\" \/><\/p>\n<p>10. Click and drag Normal.Module1.wipe_prop onto toolbar (you can choose your favorite toolbar to put it).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Click and drag\" src=\"http:\/\/www.otakatik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tiptrick101\/0103\/drag-drop_12.jpg\" alt=\"Click and drag\" \/><\/p>\n<p>11. Then change its button name to makes it be more user friendly to other users by right click it (I suggest to give it name: Clean Properties), and if you\u2019ve done click Close button on Customize dialog.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Change button name\" src=\"http:\/\/www.otakatik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tiptrick101\/0103\/change_name_13.jpg\" alt=\"Change button name\" \/><\/p>\n<p>12.
