S.  citizens in  responsible uses of firearms and airguns through gun safety training,  marksmanship training and competitions. The CMP is a federally chartered  501 (c)  (3) corporation that places its highest priority on serving youth  through gun  safety and marksmanship activities that encourage personal growth and  build life  skills. Links on this page will lead you to more detailed information  about the  CMP and its programs. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">The program was changed in 1996 from being supported fully by the US Government to being forced to pay for itself.\u00a0 This was Clinton&#8217;s attempt to get rid of this program and anything else that had to do with the second amendment to the U.S. Constitution.\u00a0 You can still get an M-1 Garand from the U.S. Government (for now). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">CMP link above (click image) to go to the main page.
